PRIMARY ROLE TITLE:

DESCRIPTION:
Provide primarily Mac help desk support (with some basic Windows support) to
a large DoD web services organization as part of the Desktop Support Team
for 40+ and growing Apple Macintosh systems (PowerPC and Intel-based) and
one Mac OS X Server in a largely Microsoft environment. Extensive Mac OS X
experience is the most important qualification for this position.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Install Mac OS X and applications software. Create and manage standard disk
images for each type of system. Support the integration of Mac systems
within the Active Directory domain. Support access to LAN resources from Mac
systems. Assist end users (Mac and Windows) and respond to trouble tickets.
Support applications developers. Track DoD Desktop Security Policies and
ensure that Apple systems are compliant. Use Apple Remote Desktop and
Symantec Antivirus Console to manage Macintosh systems. Work with PKI and
CITRIX on the Macintosh and Windows platform. Integrate Apple Mail or
Entourage with Windows Exchange Server. Implement Common Access Card login
for Macintosh systems. Complete transition from PowerPC to Intel-based
Macintosh systems. Prepare and install Parallels images with Windows XP.
Work closely with Apple support lead to ensure quality support to
management, creative design, and applications developers.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
At least six years of professional technical support experience to include
working with Apple MAC OS X and Windows XP. US citizenship required as
candidate must undergo Federal Government background investigation to obtain
DoD clearance.
