Hi Keith,
You might try (if you haven’t
already) downloading and reviewing the “CAC on a Mac” writeup which
can be found at: http://cisr.nps.edu/pub_techrep.html.
It might have some hints to help you get it configured properly. You’ve
already done some of the steps – but be sure and step through the
document to make sure you haven’t missed anything. It’s helped quite
a few people figure the CAC stuff out and get it working.

Subject: [Fed-Talk] CAC
installation
To Whom It May Concern:
Ladies and Gentlemen, I recently purchased
a MacBookPro (in January) and am currently attending an Army service school
that requires that I have CAC access to AKO from my personal laptop, since
using a unit computer system is a total impossiblity. I subscribed to the
daily fed-talk digest and have had some occasion to sift through what has
already been published regarding CAC enabling on the Mac OS. It seems
that many of you are a) far smarter than I and/or b)wayyyyy ahead of me.
I desperately need to get my reader up and running and would appreciate a
step-by-step recap on how to go about this. My reader is an SCR
331. I've updated the firmware from a PC, entered the command SUBA(?)
pcsctool in the Terminal window, and my Mac responded appropriately. I
currently use Firefox and haven't yet cracked the code as to the DoD
certificate installation, getting it to recognize that my reader is plugged in
and that my CAC card was inserted. I currently have the Gemplus 64
something-or-other, and I believe some subscribers to this digest have tackled
that issue....Thanks for any help you can give....Keith Martel
