I was wondering if anyone else has been trying to deploy Mac OS X
10.4.10
with an ASR image and if they were having much success. I can get

deployed, but seem to be experiencing strange behaviors from some
hardware
configurations.
Does anyone know if the 10.4.10 update might be hardware
dependant? That
is, does it install different files depending on what the actual
hardware of
the computer is?
I am only trying this on Intel-based macs right now.
We haven't actually been given a "Universal Intel" 10.4 install yet
(That is
- no set of 10.4.x disks that can be used on any intel machine.).
So is
there a recommended way to actually build a Universal Intel ASR?
The way I
have been doing it has been to keep a "virgin" 10.4 intel install
that works
on all the current hardware and then upgrade it with the disks that
come
with new hardware that the current image won't work on. Then I add
all of
our configurations and applications. This seemed to work until we
got the
new Macbook Pros. The image that I created (updated to 10.4.10) is
where I
am starting to run into problems.
Any ideas?
Is the problem you are running into that the upgraded install works
on the new MBP but gives jibberish screens on the older ones?
