I had the same problem on a MacBook Pro. My notebook started freezing
when I first used it in the morning. I found that VirusScan 8.6 was
corrupted. I re-installed it and the problem has not occurred again.

How many people are using FileVault with 10.5.1 on Intel machines.
We have some type of freezing problem. At the moment I suspect third-
party software but my suspects are limited to Cisco VPN, Office 2004,
McAfee 8.6, and Parallels. I haven't totally inventoried what the
user installed but he hasn't had the machine very long at all.
In theory one of my security configurations could have an effect but I
don't see how as they all seem rather minor.
Laptops without FileVault running is a scary thought.
