Cisco's VPN client for OS X does not implement a PKCS#11 interface,
nor does it talk to Keychain API, so it cannot use the CAC at all.
If you can convince your org to change your VPN to use the standard
L2TP/IPSec over the proprietary Cisco VPN nonsense, the Mac OS X
client will happily (with some devilish details) talk to a Cisco VPN
concentrator.

Is anyone out there using their smartcard(CAC) with Cisco’s VPN
client 4.9.01 for authentication? It works well for XP but it does
not seem to access the keychain store in the VPN client’s
"Certificate Authentication" section.
I know my card reader etc. is configured correctly because I
connect to PKI required site and NMCI mail with no problem.
Also when I attempt to run “Common Access Card Viewer” it seems to
want to startup but then immediately crashes?
