The blinking seems to be normal, at least on my MacBook Pro with a
flashed SCR331. The fastest way to see if the CAC reader is working
is to open up "KeyChain Access.app" and look for and entry "Smart
Card #1". If you see this, then try to "unlock" the keychain at which
point a dialog should open up and ask for your PIN. If you get this
far then the CAC reader is working.
If you are trying to access CAC enabled web mail then you will have
to use Safari, get the DOD certificates and install the certs into
the Keychain.
Note when accessing the webmail system with a CAC that the initial
logon can take a few minutes. Just be patient.
Here is what I follow:
After you confirm that your CAC reader is working and can read the
CAC card itself then launch Safari.
Under the "Safari" menu, select "Delete Cache"
Quit Safari
Unlock the Smart card keychain.
Launch Safari and go to your webmail site.
wait.....wait.....wait....
OWA should appear in Safari.
"log out" of OWA when finished. This seems to make the next
connection faster.
