Biggest change (actually a huge change), other than graphical
prettiness, interface enhancements, some new features, etc., is
support for the new Office 2007 for Windows file formats (Office Open
XML):

And that's huge for anyone interacting with the current version of
Office on Windows, and will be going forward.
Biggest drawback is that Visual Basic is gone:
