I don't know if anyone on this list is developing web pages or web
apps specifically for the iPhone or iPod Touch, but if you are you
might want to check out Apple's latest "iPhone Human Interface
Guidelines."

While the document is specifically focused on web-based applications
(and pages), there are some interesting tidbits that makes one
believe that Apple will be opening iPhone up to native applications
soon. On the first page there is a box that states:
"Note: Currently, developers create web applications for iPhone, not
native applications. Therefore, this document focuses solely on the
presentation of web applications and other web content on iPhone."
The use of the word "currently" would seem to imply Apple is
considering *eventual* support for native applications. Also, many/
most examples in this document of good interface design use native
applications as examples and not web-based applications.
