I had troubles with iWeb including inconsistent (and sometime broken) behavior when viewing with Safari, Firefox, and IE. In particular, Firefox and IE had troubles following links to video podcasts. iWeb designed sites also seem slow to load as well.

I agree with Gary that you should look at SandVox. I have purchased a license and generally like it, but in the end, I have decided to roll my own web site by hand. It is a tedious task, and for most people I would recommend something like SandVox.
