Title: Re: [Fed-Talk] CAC and Leopard/Safari/Firefox
Here is what you will have to do to solve the login problem:
1) Quit Safari completely
2) Insert card and open Keychain Access.
3) Select the CAC keychain.
4) Select "My Certificates" from "Category" on the sidebar.
5) Right click on the certificate you need to authenticate with (usually the Identity or email signing cert) and select "New Identity Preference". You can use the triangle by the certificate to expand it and view its type.
6) Enter the URL for the site.
Site - AKO
Certificate - Identity
ID Pref URL - https://akocac.us.army.mil/
* note the following forward slash, it has to be there

Subject: [Fed-Talk] CAC and Leopard/Safari/Firefox
All -
I am Active Duty Army and I use AKO (Army Knowledge Online). For the
last year I've used Safari to let me log into AKO with my CAC to
change my password. I didn't have any problems. Just plugged in the
reader, put in the card, signed into AKO with the CAC option, and
changed my password. Now, with Leopard, I can't do it.
I have the most updated version of Safari and 10.5.4 (Leopard). I was
able to get Safari to recognize my CAC using my reader. It enables me
to login to AKO with my card. However, when I click on "Change
Password" in the "My Account" section on AKO, nothing happens. The
link doesn't work and I can't change my password.
Under Utilities-Keychains, my 3 certificates are listed for my card
and it recognizes my card/CAC reader.
I've tried to use Firefox but I can't even get Firefox to allow me to
login to AKO w/ my CAC. The DOD extension doesn't work, either.
Any help?
Andrew
