Hello mr. Geddis,
Caused by: java.io.IOException: dlopen(/System/Library/Frameworks/PCSC.framework/Versions/Current/PCSC, 1): no suitable image found. Did find: /System/Library/Frameworks/PCSC.framework/Versions/Current/PCSC: mach-o, but wrong architecture /System/Library/Frameworks/PCSC.framework/Versions/Current/PCSC: mach-o, but wrong architecture
The problem is that the process that is loading the library has an architecture mis-match as Java SE 6 as provided by Apple is Intel 64-bit only: % file /System/Library/Frameworks/JavaVM.framework/Versions/1.6.0/Libraries/libj2pcsc.jnilib /System/Library/Frameworks/JavaVM.framework/Versions/1.6.0/Libraries/libj2pcsc.jnilib: Mach-O 64-bit dynamically linked shared library x86_64
but your version of the library is only Intel 32-bit: % file /System/Library/Frameworks/PCSC.framework/PCSC /System/Library/Frameworks/PCSC.framework/PCSC: Mach-O dynamically linked shared library i386
I checked on my wife's iMac (which doesn't have your Smart Card Services Update installed) and I see that the original version also supported PPC which your warning confirms. PPC not being supported anymore isn't a problem for me, but I wondered if it is possible for you to create a version that also supports Intel 64-bit? I tried to build a 64-bit version from the open source darwin sources but wasn't successful (which is probably because two header files it needs aren't included in "SmartCardServices-32672.tar.gz" : security_utilities/debugging.h and security_utilities/threading.h).
I also filed a bug report (enhancement) with Apple under Problem ID 6175605 so I hope 64-bit support will be added in 10.5.5 too.
Thanks, Nick |
