I have to say, I second the previous message. I'm sorry to say that
it simply becomes impossible to support Apple products in the
military workplace if Apple doesn't support its products first. Just
this last weekend during our monthly drill we were trying to set up
several macs from Reserve members that need to access PKI enabled
applications from home and it was really a show stopper when members
with intel macs and Leopard were unable to have this setup for them.
These men and women should not be left with the alternative of buying
a PC or virtualization software, much less a Windows license.
Bootcamp would make sense except that there were problems with it as
well. Members with powerpc macs running Tiger were set up to use SCM
Micro's SCR331, SCR3310, and Cherry's ST-1000U without problems
(other than some incompatible web sites - not Apple's fault). I
really had high hopes for 10.5.6 to correct this situation and as far
as intel+leopard:
SCR331 - not recognized by Keychain Access, can interact using
pcsctool and pcsctest
SCR3310 - non-functional
ST-1000U - non-functional (I guess no intel drivers for these dinosaurs)
