What a shame tho. While it may make sense perhaps in some agencies, I would argue that if a camera is not permitted, the cell phone itself should not be permitted. A cell phone mic can be remotely activated by the carrier at will in most phones. Does your carrier have a TS?

>From a business perspective I use my iPhone camera all of the time. I record serial numbers of my equipment (barcodes too), take photos of my car in parking decks to locate it later, add photos to the vCards, and lately take photos of our booth at trade shows.

It is only a matter of time before we see an app that can scan barcodes via iPhone. That would make the iPhone an excellent unit for hospital bed-to-med checking.

I am aware that you can turn it off in software, it's just an agency policy thing.
