Mac OS X 10.5 (Server) Security Configuration Guide Released
I am very pleased to announce the immediate availability of the much anticipated Mac OS X v10.5 Server Security Configuration Guide which was developed under collaboration between Apple, NSA, NIST and DISA.
This now completes the set for both Leopard Client & Server Guides. In the future, there will also be an iPhone OS Security Configuration Guide as well. Please bookmark this page and replace any previous links on your agency web pages or within internal documentation.
Mac OS X Security Configuration Guides
Mac OS X v10.5 (Leopard)
Mac OS X v10.4 (Tiger)
NSA / NIST / DISA: All four organizations collaborated on the published document, however, as is the standard procedure, all three US Federal Government Organizations will be performing their own additional Public/Private review. At the completion of the review within and by each organization, any additional feedback, updates and modifications will be reviewed once again by all four organizations. It is expected that an updated version of this document (v1.1) will be made public later this summer. NSA's standard location for all Operating System Security Configuration Guides (once they are approved) are located at the following URL:
NSA Information Assurance
Operating Systems Guides
If you have any comments, concerns, suggestions or submissions relevant to the security guides, you are more than welcome to respond to this release announcement.
