Actually, the cleaner way to do this is what started the thread:
sudo /System/Library/StartupItems/CiscoVPN/CiscoVPN restart
Granted, it is effetcively accomplishing the same thing, but you're
using Cisco's components — which, in theory, could change — to do
it.
