ALCON,
I am hunting for a white paper or otherwise that compares and
contrasts the security of both IMAP and MAPI.
It is my understanding that almost all ISPs block port 135 for
security reasons.... which is what MAPI/RPC relies upon. On the other
hand, the internet mail systems (billions served) runs on secure
IMAP. But that alone is not a good comparison by any stretch of the
imagination.
I would think that someone, maybe even Microsoft, has done a white
paper. Has anyone seen such an animal?
Use ssl for MAPI/RPC for Outlook.
