Title: Re: [Fed-Talk] Help getting started CAC on my new Mac
Mike,
Thanks – that’s where I started. I am using the CAC for a Mac v1.0 guide (that’s what I referenced below).
This is what fwupdate is telling me in the device parameters:
Parameter, existing, new value
Download Filename, CSR531_V525, <blank>
Manufacturer (same)
Product, SCR 35xx USB, SCR x31 USB S..
Vendor (same)
Product ID, 5410, E001
Firmware Version, 01.03, 05.25
Serial Number, disabled
And then it reports “”Unable to switch to DFU mode”
Thanks for the help!

Brent,
Try this:
Go to the SCOMPSOLVE Mail - [Fed-Talk] Help getting started CAC on my new Mac - email@hidden <#label/Fed-Talk/11d1caf17827805e> CM download page, and get the latest driver package (driver/firmware>scr3310>OS X):

If you have the SCR 3310, it's firmware is probably already good, but you need the separate driver package. Install that, and then install the root certificates, and set up the identity preferences.

Hi folks: Please bear with me. I received a new MBP a few weeks ago and
since have yet to RAS from home on it. I've been watching closely here to
every post and resource and I appreciate those who've blazed the trail
before me.
But... I am stuck. And am about ready to yank my hair out. I cannot get my
XP box to get past the fwupdate process. I am stuck at Step 10 of paragraph
3.4.1. <http://3.4.1.> When I start fwupdate, it kills the resource manager, then I get
dialog showing me old and new (including the 05.25 driver)... But when I
click finish, I get
"Unable to switch to DFU mode
The device may be busy
Quit the application now and try again later"
I have:
Uninstalled Active Gold
Killed Norton, both firewall and auto-protect
Gone through and stopped every service I could think of
Started in Safe Mode, but then I can't see the Smart Card Reader
I have an SCM3310, but somehow have the 4.41.0.1 <http://4.41.0.1> driver on it for the SCR
35xx Card Reader. Is that a problem? I've tried rolling it back to the
3310 with no luck. It looks like fwupdate will fix it if only it would
"switch to DFU mode."
Any help would be appreciated.
