I had been using our dialup at work to occasionally connect and manage
our servers, however, they just instituted a policy where one has to
connect and then establish a VPN connection after dialing up.
Our network group gave me a copy of the Cisco VPN Client - v4.9.01
(0100) to use. I set it up as they had instructed, however, I was
told I needed to use "Certificate Authentication" and to check the
"Send CA Certificate Chain". The only problem is the Cisco client
does not seem to see my CAC card. but I can use the Keychain Access
and see the certificates there. I'm using an ActivIdentity USB
Reader 2.0 card reader that has been flashed to work with the Mac.
I'm using a MacBook running the latest version of Leopard (10.5.6).
Before this policy went into effect, I was able to dial in and use
Safari to get to our website using the reader (it asked for my PIN and
then let me continue). The stupid thing is that although they have
implemented this new policy on the dialups, no one in the network
group seems to be able to tell me how to get it working on my Mac.
Am I trying to do the impossible? Or is it going to require me to buy
a copy of Parallels and run XP to get things working?
