There are flash memory readers for the Expresscard/34 slot, but
they're essentially USB interfaces with built-in card readers. The
only other use I know of for the /34 slot is eSata ports, but they
have very spotty performance on OS X. I bought one and it was _slower_
than USB 2.0 on my late 2008 MBP, which is a common problem from what
I read online.
