Many commercial enterprises do this as well. This doesn't mean it's
not a niche, though. And based on my experience with PGP WDE on my
work Mac laptop vs. SGEasy on the Windows laptop I had for a while,
PGP WDE wins big. It's a very nice product. So is ADmitMac.
In my opinion , there are third party applications or providers to
fulfill these requirements but, If apple is serious about federal
support, OS X should do what is federally required -- natively.
To my knowledge, no desktop OS does everything natively. We certainly
had to install a bunch of 3rd party crap on our Windows boxes (which
weren't even on a network) last time I had to manage some for a DoD
contract, for example...
