If I understand your email correctly the person you spoke to on the phone gave you bad mojo. I preordered Snow Leopard forgetting I could get a government discount. I went back through the government discount site and saw that I could save about $5 so I called Apple. They had it straightened out and charged me the lesser price immediately.
