- Thread-topic: [Fed-Talk] GuardianEdge Disk encryption on MAC
The problem I have with GuardianEdge is that the NMCI box is my ONLY outside connection. My Mac is operating on an internal scientific LAN with no connection to the outside world. So, if I need to download a datasheet or component model file for use on my internal network, I've got to hop on someone else's Windows computer to upload them to our SAN, then come back to my Mac (which sits 12" away from the NMCI computer) and root around on my network to copy the file over. These files are not of a sensitive nature, and the removable hard drive stays put between the two machines. Burning CD's of single, <1MB files is wasteful. Under my circumstances, I think the encryption policy implemented on NMCI is superfluous.

Inteldocs is also another solution, and is accessible from any NIPRNet workstation and remotely via Intelink-U Remote Access (available to any DOD or IC user). It allows for file uploads up to 100 MB in size, is Mac friendly, and is part of Intelink's broader tool suite:
