No, they haven't missed anything.
We start with the gold master, but have to add (Cyberlink Power DVD) for
the users to have DVD playback capability.

Problem playing DVDs with Vista (UNCLASSIFIED)

Our base is upgrading to VISTA and now customers are telling me our DVDs
we produce will not play on their systems. Sure enough I tried one of
our disk we produced and it would not play. This is the message I got.
"Windows Media Player cannot play the DVD because a compatible DVD
decoder is not installed on your computer."
Followed the link to Microsoft's web site and found this message:
"DVD Playback Options for Windows
If you are running the Windows Vista Home Basic, Windows Vista Business,
Windows Vista Enterprise, or Windows XP operating system on your
computer, you might need to install a compatible DVD decoder (also known
as a MPEG-2
decoder) before continuing with the following activities.
Playing a DVD
Playing a recorded TV show
Playing video files that were encoded with the MPEG-2 codec (.mpeg,
.mpg, and some .avi files) To purchase a compatible DVD decoder, visit
Plug-ins for Windows Media Player."
So is the MPEG decoder not included in the Army's Gold master or is our
NEC folks missing something.
Thanks
