...then there were also the rumors that 2 years of exclusivity were cut off the agreement when it was renegotiated, around the time that the subsidy and revenue sharing model for changed.
...then there were the follow-on rumors to that rumor that said that exclusivity was re-extended to 5 years when AT&T agreed to become the contractless data partner for iPad.
Of course, I don't know whether any of this is accurate, and it's still unclear if Apple would even be willing to build a CDMA handset (though I personally suspect they would when the AT&T relationship has provided all it can).
