I believe this is the future of education and of the Army, "One Laptop Per Soldier" a la "One Laptop Per Child", where each Soldier is given a battle-hardened whatever to use until the next best thing comes along with the ability to push and pull information (push AARs, Knowledge Management. Lessons Learned; pull reach back training, maps, current intel, religious support...but don't quote me on that one. :o) ) You keep it with you throughout, reporting for virus protection for the tech as you do for yourself on a regular basis. Encrypted. Wipable.
