Not me. I periodically download a free version of the commercial tools,
which allow a scan but not a clean. Every time I'm good to go.
With that said, back in the early 2000s, Norton Antivirus opened up a
whopping big security hole in the Mac until Norton patched it. Those of
use who didn't have virus protection were feeling lucky!
I've also substantially sped up Mac of friends and colleagues by
removing the antivirus tools that were hogging so much horsepower in the
background as to make the machines unpleasant to use.
OK, I've revealed my bias......
