Is it worthwhile to make a distinction between where all the parts come from
and where final assembly occurs? I know way back when I ordered a Power Mac
G5 it shipped from near Sacramento, but when my then-roommate ordered a
PowerBook G4 it shipped from Malaysia.
More recently, a couple years ago when my bother was shopping for a laptop,
the only one we noticed that said "assembled in the USA" on the bottom was a
Sony Vaio.
