You can be a member of multiple organizations; Apple's web site will prompt you to select the appropriate organization as you log in.

To be removed, I BELIEVE that you need to have the prior organization remove you as an active user of their "team".  I haven't tested this, but it makes sense to me...

(I 'belong to' both a personal, and an Enterprise, team/account.  When I log in I get a drop down list of these ‘teams’ and am asked to select the one I want to use.)

If that isn’t useful or doesn’t work, I don’t know what to tell you.  Developer Support (for the portals) wasn’t very helpful when I had problems with it a year or two ago but I imagine they’re better now...
