I believe Outlook2011 for Mac is now following the RFC like Apple does. When
I was on the Outlook2011 beta group, I asked about this and I think their
engineer said they are going to follow the RFC to anticipate the Unicode
world. I think we all need to realize that we now live in a global internet
world with non-roman characters becoming more prevalent everyday from DNS to
email addresses.
The vendors are looking at the global market and is trying to support it the
best they could.
