Call this the geek in me, but something sexy about that big aluminum rounded corner tower of the Mac Pro (and even the PowerMac G5).
They are so sexy in fact, I have a total of four... two Mac Pros, and two power mac G5s.... the G5s dont get used anymore, but they sure make me look important in my home office lined up next to each other :)
And in the winter time, the G5s can be a space heater too! :)

At work here, if you're buying a Mac desktop, it sure ain't gonna be an iMac for Matlab. The Mac Pros that are here generally aren't the entry level model either. They're usually stuffed full of RAM and a few video cards.

I predict mac pro goes way of Xserve.
Mac pro is too much power for the average Facebook/twitter user and that seems to be apples new target. IMHO.
They dumped optical media why keep a machine around that has not one but two optical drives?

I picked up a new Mac Pro at an Apple Store today and was surprised to find that it had Snow Leopard (10.6.4) on it and not Lion. Is Apple not shipping Lion on the latest Mac Pros, or do I just have an exceptionally old computer that had been sitting around in the back room? :-\
And if anyone has a new Mac Pro that came with Lion, how was the re-install media shipped? On a little USB stick?
