So here is a puzzler for the Fed-Talk group… we are steaming east across the Pacific ocean on the way home from Pacific Partnership 2012. We are crossing the international date line tonight, switching from UTC+12 to UTC-12, effectively repeating the same day. (The Navy lovingly calls it Groundhog day, and we will be playing Groundhog Day, all day, on the ship’s cable TV system)
Here is the challenge: Set any iOS device to the UTC-12 time zone. We can’t find a way.
It seems odd that whomever came up with the forced city list in iOS wouldn’t include *something*, there are several islands in this time zone, even if they don’t have people on them. What’s even more maddening is that you can’t just set an offset in iOS, or at least include UTC-12 for this zone.
Anyone have any ideas?
