I thought the "red" and "China" were Freudian. :)

Who typed this mess?? Sloppy fingers.
fixed--Not all parts of Macs are manufactured in China, many are from the US
(see other web articles).

There have been several articles, including some commenting on
Cook's interview about this subject. The idea is to bring a manufacturing
line to the US. This is also something Foxconn is thinking about.
As for making them more acceptable to the Army, I'd like to see a
Dell or HP actually manufactured in the US out of totally US parts. This
isn't happening and I doubt we'll ever see it happen. There will always be
parts manufactured from around the world in every computer. Apple needs to
push NIST to get FIPS certification for its encryption modules. That will
help more than where it's manufactured.

As I recall, these iMacs are ASSEMBLED in the US, not BUILT.
As I heard
it, if you buy one out-of-the-box, it's assembled in China.
If it's
customized in any way, it's assembled here from parts
manufactured in
China.

(Imacs are already inscribed that way apparently).
Will this make them
more acceptable for Army purchase/use?
