I've usually had good results with WD and Hitachi. WD makes a "server" hard drive which is supposed have even better quality components than consumer drives. I've not had any hands-on experience with these though.

Seagate had a really bad batch of 1TB drives that screwed us on 1) a RAID
timeout issue and 2) they have been far less reliable than other drives. We
are replacing Seagate 1TB drives constantly in our RAID arrays.
