My experience with financial institutions in NY is "no firm data on
the device." That's a policy decision made well before things get to
IT departments.
Of course, there are always exceptions. Two that I am aware of: policy
is now being loosened for lower data sensitivity levels such as
"public data"; and the "Board Books" applications (such as
BoardVantage, Directors Desk, etc).
Board books are causing big problems because it so difficult to handle
that sensitivity level (not to mention its the folks on Mahogany Row
who want to use them). On a classic remote client, we would be using
two factor to access that stuff. How does one persist a document on
projected financial health or pending litigation on an iPad safely?
We've already lost a factor. Offline availability is crushing....
