HA! Well, don't expect to see anything like Live Tiles the way Apple has
been on the winning side of lawsuits. That would put them on the wrong side
of the stand. But I agree. Remember, they've got to save something back to
put into the "S" version next year. :)

If I don't have a tracking number by Thursday night, I'll be with the rest
of the people at Apple 1am.. it's fun hob nobbing with apple geeks, although
these days it is more of a bunch of people who aren't geeks and just know
how to facebook... but one other prominent iOS developer lives in ABQ and I
almost always see him here. He's pretty cool to shoot the poop with.
Yep... freezing at 1am standing in line, pre-order as a backup... all from
the guy that bashes Apple from time to time.
I'm still frustrated with the mediocre update (the iPhone 5 hardware is
amazing yes, but iOS 6 is lackluster)... just read the "siri enhancements"
from macworld... not impressed... Google's voice search does much more ,but
Apple will not approve it.. it is sitting in "In Review Purgatory" as iOS
developers call it when you get the dreaded "We are sorry, your application
is taking additional review time. We will update you when more information
is available".
USA Today did a review of it yesterday... said the phone was awesome, but
iOS is starting to become very dated, which I agree. the live tiles on WP7
and WP8 are amazing, Apple should take a note from that... true, new app
icons now say "new" before the first time you launch them (which is nice
incase you forget you download something), but other than that it's pretty
much the same ol' stuff.
Maps, while very cool eye candy, do not perform well (at least from what
I've seen)... but, Safari is STILL the best mobile browser on the planet in
my opinion.
Mix live tiles with iOS - then you have a winner I think. There isn't a
whole lot more phones can do that I can think of, so now it's about refining
the experience.

those orders. That's why I didn't order online, because I'd be switching
carriers and didn't want to have all of that info (driver's license, SSN,
etc.) floating out in the ether and having to get through Apple to the
carrier site. Since it's not a "must have today" for me I'd rather just
stand in line and get one, if I can, on Friday.

my iPhone 5 has been shipped. My order still says delivered on 9/21.
