I actually like the new maps app better than the old. I already had purchased TomTom anyways to get turn by turn directions and traffic.
Google says I live on an airport that has been gone for over 20 years. The satellite picture on the new maps is about 6 mo old vs over 5 years on google. It is also more responsive when I'm only on the 1x data connection compared to google.
The only complaint I have is that I can't tell if there's traffic coverage on an area since it only shows the "red" areas.
I think people just love to hate. And lately Apple has been the one to pick on...

I personally don't have a problem with maps. They definitely have food eye candy (floating around).
But radio and tv stations here are saying how upset users are with it.
A lot of people complained and complain a kit Siri. I think Siri does a great job given today's technology.
I think it's the best voice recognition I've seen on a device.
