Walter,

I think Apple should only have to update their validation unless they use entirely different crypto modules. Updating takes much less time!

Shawn,

Will these modules have to be re-validated / certificates updated with iOS 7 and OS X 10.9?

All four of the CoreCrypto modules that Apple submitted for FIPS validation have received their FIPS certificate.

  • Apple OS X CoreCrypto Module, v3.0 - Certificate #1964
  • Apple OS X CoreCrypto Kernel Module, v3.0 - Certificate #1956
  • Apple iOS CoreCrypto Module, v3.0 - Certificate #1963
  • Apple iOS CoreCrypto Kernel Module, v3.0 - Certificate #1944

Read the security policy and consolidated validation certificate info associated with each one for more details.
