Fed-talk Et al.
Since a HD failed on a MBPro along time ago, I have been paranoid about
upgrading the OS as long as there are patches. I think I finally have enough courage to attempt to upgrade to Yosemite.
I cloned the apple HD disk with Carbon Copy Cloner - http://bombich.com/ to a USB 1TB HD
I ran time machine and backed up to a separate USB 1TB HD.
I think I am almost done except for understanding if I need to do more prep in order to use the migration assistant
to get my data from Time Machine backup.
Looking at https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204320
It appears that I can use my Time Machine Backup to migrate my settings, applications, and files to the new install of Yosemite.
1. So I do not need to create a backup with the Migration Assistant.
Is that correct?
2. On the new install of Yosemite do I need to create an account with a different user name that is not the same as the
migrated account in the Time Machine Backup?
Thank you,
Raymond
