I love Splunk. The free-ish limited indexing version has saved me many times. For an agency so insanely obsessed with the appearance of security, it’s pretty crazy that the one I belong to doesn’t have a Splunk farm to log everything, everyone, all the
time. Splunk isn’t expensive by any means, but it’s value is insane.

In case anybody else is having trouble with Splunk on El Cap:
1) mkdir -p /Users/eserv/wrangler/build-home/6.2.6
2) cd /Users/eserv/wrangler/build-home/6.2.6
3) ln -s /Applications/splunk/lib lib
