Greetings,
I'm having more fun with FSCoypObjectSync. My latest stumbling block
is a user who is writing to a networked Linux server using Samba. I
use FSCopyObjectSync to duplicate a file in a directory on the
target volume (both source and destination files are in the same
directory).
Looking at the timing of the messages in the log, it appears that
FSCopyObjectSync is copying each file (bigger files take longer),
but then every call returns error -54 (permErr).
Any ideas? I'm not sure what phase of the copy is failing. The only
option I'm using is kFSFileOperationOverwrite.
It would be best if I could figure out how to get this to work.
Barring that, is there a way to determine if a volume is using
Samba? (I could roll my own copy just for Samba volumes -- other I/O
functions seem to work just fine.)
This sounds like a protocol interop issue. Could you provide a packet
trace?
