Forcing Finder to forget

I'm not sure if this is the right mailing list for this question as I'm not writing a filesystem, so feel free to chastise me if that's the case. :-)

Is there any way that I can reliably, on both 10.4 and 10.5, force the finder to forget (clear its internal cache) the contents of a folder? Anything along the lines of forcing it to clear and attempt to reload a folder would be fine.

I'm afraid I can't give very many specifics as to why I need to do this, as I'm working under NDA on an unreleased product.

Many thanks,

- Greg
