I have the same problem, see the thread "disable Trash, Spotlight and fsevents
on all optical (udf) discs" on filesystem-dev@ and discrecording@ from
March/April 2008.
The OS should not write to removable disks/discs unless permission is given.
I don't want this fs stuff on my memory cards (photo, phone, etc), rewritable
discs or external firewire drives which are also used by other OSs (FreeBSD).
Please make this a default behaviour.
The OS can always ask for permission to create these files and folders or
write a file to disc/disk (or set a flag) when permission is given forever.
These files and folders do not only pollute the fs, but don't make sense on
most removable disks/discs either.
Btw, I'm not able to login to bug reporter to report this problem finally (the
ADC Bug Reporting Team is informed).

regards,
O.
