What? That's insane. Aliases are for _persistent_ file refs, and are
very costly, in memory and performance, i.e. much worse than storing
paths, or has something changed there recently that I am not aware of?
Didn't I explain that I am looking for the opposite - i.e. to keep a
reference only during the runtime of an app, and only for the duration
of a single mount session?
