On Mac OS X, kFSForceReadBit and kFSForceReadMask have never been supported
(setting it does nothing). They were only supported by the old Mac OS 9 (and
earlier) disk cache.

Is there any way to emulate it? I'd like to be able to (a) verify that the data written to media can be read back successfully, and (b) when suspect data is read forcing the underlying storage device to re-read the data again. (I'm more interested in b than a.)
