It appears that FSCatalogSearch has become case sensitive when searching file names on case sensitive volumes in 10.9.
Before, when searching for a file named "a", it would also find items named "A", even on case sensitive HFS+ volumes. In 10.9, this is not the case any more.
Is this a bug or a feature?
If it's a feature, it's counter-productive because this is a _search_ function, which is prepared to deal with multiple matches! OTOH, an "open", for instance is not, hence there the case separation makes sense.
Usually, the user enters a search condition and then the user or the searching program can sort it out later from the results. Now however, if the user only remembers the file's name but not its case, he won't be able to find the file any more as it was possible before. And that sucks. I've already got a complaint about it (I'm selling a search tool that relies on CatSearch).
Any chance this could be reverted back to search case insensitive even on case sensitive volumes?
