long story...can't do a hard link or a symbolic link...has to be a
FINDER ALIAS. i wish the coders at extensis would get thier act
together and come out with a proper package installer so i don't have
to package this up. having said that, why on earth would a finder
alias be needed for anything? anyway, the original AND the finder
alias need to be installed by the package installer.
Depending on the need to be able to run the installation with or
without the Finder running, you could:
- launch an Applescript from the postflight script: you need to write
the applescript script. The Finder needs to be running AFAIK.
or
- launch a self-made tool creating an Alias file: This can be done
using the source code at
http://homepage.mac.com/nathan_day/pages/source.html
