Using Mac OS 10.3.7
I have figured out some more information on my permission problems of the installer and I am now really confused.
I create a source tree of files on my Mac in preparation for the installer build. My userid on this machine is rohick. It appears that when anyone installs the application, they get MY userid with the file - but not in the form of rohick, but the number 503. I traced that down to being my uid on the Mac. So, many of the testers get 503 as the owner of the files, so they cannot delete without authentication, which is not right. Some get their userid, but only if their uid is also 503, which is just by chance.
My installer has the "Override Directory Permissions" on the info tab UNCHECKED, which makes sense to me. I built an installer with this option CHECKED and the result was the same.
1) So, what is the trick to get my files to the user and give the ownership to them?
2) Is the Override permission option doing what it is supposed to?
Thanks,
Bob Hickey
