Fonts Loosing Type/Creator Information...

I'm creating a font installer using Iceberg/PackageMaker for use in
10.3.9 and later on an Intel iMac running 10.4.6. After the fonts are
installed, their type and creator have been stripped from the file.
(GetFileInfo shows "" for both type and creator) The source files
contain the correct data, and after installation do not. Any suggestions
as to what might be going on?
