Hi:

I recall that the ability to build packages that would handle the software
update functionality was being made available with Packagemaker while using
distributions in tiger and later. This would supposedly use hashing to check
for the validity of the downloaded package. However, I not able to find any
documentation or samples to try to implement this for my software. Are there
any samples/documentation available that details this functionality ?

Downloadable packages are not available in Tiger (10.4). They were discussed at WWDC this year, but no additional documentation is available at this time.
