Preflight script breaks my package

I have a preflight script in my Resource directory. It is
named preflight and contains one simple line of code.
osascript –e ‘tell application “Safari”
to quit’
This script executes fine from a terminal window but breaks
packagemaker. I checked the permissions on the script and it seems to be
correct and read/write on every user (777). Is there a trick to getting this
script to work inside packagemaker? What am I doing wrong?
